The Arrival of Spring 2021
April saw a mix of very hot days and very cold nights followed by rain in May, lots of it! Our water butts are full thanks to our new water conservation system. Vandalism in Liquorice Park
We are sad to report that our wooden seat in the sunken garden was vandalised this week. We believe it was done overnight on 12th/13th May. This seat was custom made for our opening of the park 21 years ago. Everybody Say “H2O”
We can all see how low rainfall is affecting Liquorice Park. So far in April 2021 the rainfall is only 15% of average. It was the same last year. The clay soils dries and becomes like concrete and large cracks are appearing in the ground. The herb and community herbaceous areas are particularly vulnerable to the low rainfall.
