The Arrival of Spring 2021

May 25, 2021 by gardener 2 Comments

April saw a mix of very hot days and very cold nights followed by rain in May, lots of it! Our water butts are full thanks to our new water conservation system. Spring has been slow to start but it's definitely arrived now. The cow parsley, comfrey and borage are flowering and glorious. We believe it was done overnight on 12th/13th May.  This seat was custom made for our opening of the park 21 years ago.  We are all upset by the thoughtless destruction of a much loved and used bench which is why we are sharing this news with our community. This is not a common occurrence … [Read more...] about Vandalism in Liquorice Park

Everybody Say “H2O”

We can all see how low rainfall is affecting Liquorice Park. So far in April 2021 the rainfall is only 15% of average.  It was the same last year.  The clay soils dries and becomes like concrete and large cracks are appearing in the ground.
