Christmas will soon be upon us, and I wanted to say a few thank-you’s as we approach the festive season.
Firstly, I want to send a special thank you to all our volunteers for all your efforts spent in making the park the beautiful place that it is. Without all your work, week in week out, we would not be able to maintain it and its unique balance of pathways and nature.
Another thank you goes to everyone who frequents the park, whether to walk their dog, play with their children or just sit and reflect. You all represent the park community and contribute to making this space so special.
And finally, a big thank you to all my fellow trustees for their work behind the scenes ensuring that the park remains one of the real jewels in the city for all our community.
This year has seen a surge in younger people volunteering at the park. It’s great to see them enjoying our open spaces and making a real contribution. The park provides a wonderful way for us all, of whatever age, to mix and make new friends.
As for the year ahead, we are starting to research and prepare for our new Management plan. To help us, it’s important to hear from the community with your ideas and suggestions, so keep them coming. With your help, we will do all we can to maintain Liquorice Park as the precious place that we all love and enjoy.
Please, continue to enjoy the park but be sensible and take account of the weather conditions.
I wish you all a Very Happy Christmas and look forward to seeing you in the park in 2024.
