In 2022 we conducted a survey amongst local people to seek their views on the Park and how they saw it. The results were very positive with many people saying how they enjoyed the Park and the clear majority supporting the Trustees actions on how the Park was maintained. There were also many suggestions on how the Park could be improved. The trustees have sought to take these on board. Over the last year we have been able to :-
*Tackle vandalism and antisocial behaviour by working closely with the police, local community groups and local politicians.
*Install extra benches for all members of the community to enjoy.
*Create a small pond to encourage amphibians and wildlife. This year we have our first tadpoles in the Park.
*Continue to try to minimize the mess by having a team of volunteers to collect all rubbish and empty the refuse bins regularly.
*Make the Park safer and more accessible by ensuring all paths are well maintained and wider.
*Negotiate with the Council to take over responsibility of the old allotment next to the Park that had fallen into disrepair. This area is in the process of being cleared out and made safe so that it should soon be another feature of the park for the public to enjoy.
Please keep your suggestions coming.
We consider everyone.
Thank you,
The Trustees.
